After almost 30 years as an astrologer I have come to the conclusion that this dimension is a school. I joke that someone somewhere has paid full tuition for each and every one of us. We are all here learning how to be ‘in relationship’.
A REASON, A SEASON, A LIFETIME
Some relationships are able to pack in what feels like a lifetime into one night. Some take years to slowly open to us and in the end get the same thing done as the one night experience. Some relationships last a lifetime and we still don’t really know the person. Do you know what I mean? Each relationship brings with it an opportunity for a lesson that can further our own evolutionary growth. If you have a lot of mutable planets it will be more normal for you to have more relationships that last a season. There is nothing wrong with this or with you! There are 6 billion people on the planet, you may just have the need to interact with more souls, nothing wrong. If you have more fixed planets you may still be hanging out with your best friend from grade one even when your kids have grown and gone; also nothing wrong, just different karmic expressions.
SELF WITH GOD; OUR SOLAR RAY
Each of us has a sun sign or solar ray. The sun is called Atma Karaka; indicator or soul. I continue to be blown away by Jyotisha. In this crazy world the most ancient body of knowledge contains so much wisdom that has been applicable throughout the ages. We are flames that jump off the big fire of our divine creator. For a time we incarnate into a form that carries an ego or personal identity. In exploring your authentic energetic identity through your birth chart, you find your own identity and somehow have to find your way to feeling or intuiting your connection to the source through a soul. There are 360 degrees in a circle so there are 360 different channels for the solar ray. Your solar ray or sun sign does give indication of your soul ‘flavor’ when it comes to ego in this incarnation. Developing your own authenticity via your solar ray is your gift back to your creator. Each of you has your own personal relationship with the visible/invisible force we call God. This IS an important relationship and one that can be nurtured effectively through meditation.
SELF WITH SELF; OUR LUNAR RAY
Your Moon is ‘Manas’ in Sanskrit which is the mind as it perceives. This is different than the thinking mind which is ruled by Mercury. The mind works as lightening speed as it perceives the world around it. Perception is then linked to intuition as the mind gives direction before you have time to think. The key is to grab that first impression and run with it instead of adding your lower thinking mind to the mix which very often clouds your initial intuition. This is an interesting concept. Have you noticed that you can have dialogue inside your head with… yourself? Who is the ‘other’? The other is your mind. Your mind is formed through your past karmic lifetimes and arrives here in this lifetime as a tool for you to continue developing. Your mind colors your perception of the world. If the basic mind is not formed well you will see the world from a more negative perspective and will need help in expanding your consciousness and releasing old patterns that may be lifetimes old! Becoming intimate with your Moon nakshatra will go a long way in helping you understand yourself and how to best develop to get your karmic job done!
The beauty is that in Jyotisha there are some remedies to strengthening your mind energy. Yes, the Moon is also related to your emotions so the heart becomes involved, thus the connection between the head and the heart!
SELF WITH ANOTHER; OUR VENUS AND MARS RAYS
Here is when relationships get tricky! Keep in mind that this body of knowledge called the Vedas teaches us that our souls incarnate into different lifetimes/bodies. It also teaches us that our universe is set up on a principle of Poorva Puna. This mean credits and debits! Yes, I’m afraid so! I remember I was studying Vedanta in Rishikesh with Swami Saraswati Dhyananda when I first learned of this term. I was shocked! Oh well. I guess we are not going to escape accounting, even on a cosmic level. Maybe this artha or material wealth we are experiencing is practice for the bigger spiritual picture?
You think you do not choose your family but on a soul level you do for sure. Your family is there to deliver karma and also to teach you lessons. Your relationships within family are either positive or negative and your lesson may be to learn how to forgive and stay or to forgive and move on. This is a deep subject that almost everyone on the planet is working through. Then there is the subject of love, friendship, and business. These are all areas you are asked to develop in the school of relationships.
HEART WIDE OPEN
Babies are born with their hearts wide open. Life damages that process and very often you spend the rest of your life trying to get back to that state. Let it be a goal.
BOUNDARIES
You are the caretaker of your body temple and soul. You are in charge of creating your boundaries. This is your responsibility. Your job is to listen and protect your heart.
STRESS
Stress is the obstacle that is thrown in there to make the game of life more challenging. How you manage your stress will expand into how you manage your relationships.
SATURN IN LIBRA
Saturn is in Libra now for the next 2 years. This is a time to focus on your relationships. Find out where Saturn is transiting in your chart. Do you have planets in Libra or Aries? The eclipses will also move into this axis on January 13, 2012 and there will be a lot of focus on this axis for 18 months starting January.
Libra also rules money.
