blog1MULA AND MONEY
It makes me smile but can anybody tell me why the nickname for money is the same Sanskrit name for the nakshatra that rules the center of our home galaxy?

A COSMIC JOKE?
As we complete the cycle on the winter solstice in 2012, we are aligned with our cosmic center. The lunar sign or nakshatra that governs this cosmic frequency is called Mula. It lies between 0-13.20 Sagittarius. Like the solar signs the lunar signs have planetary rulers.

In this case the ruler of Mula is Ketu. Ketu is the south node of the moon which is a chia graha or shadow planet. In fact it is the area where the eclipses happen and Jyotisha tells us that those areas are so important they gain planetary status. Mula is very much about dissolving the physical reality into the non physical therefore rules loss or surrender. Is it a mistake that during this time so many seem to have ‘lost their Mula’?

blogLOSS OPENS SPIRITUALITY
It appears in this dimension that one of the main ways that people come to look a little deeper into life is through serious loss. Surrender is similar and often comes when times are so bad that one has no other choice but to surrender.

LOSS OF MONEY OPENING GLOBAL SPIRITUALITY?
David Frawley has been one of my main Gurus in Jyotisha and I like what he has to say this week…

“The galactic center is connected to the central spiritual Sun of the galaxy, and the spiritual influences that it brings us, as well as the higher energies of life and intelligence.

The galactic center also reflects the energy of the Divine Mother and the primal Goddess force the Shakti that creates the universe, particularly in the form of Adya Kali or the primal form of the Great Goddess of Time and Eternity. The Winter Solstice also relates to the Divine Mother as it is womb of the year and longest Night on which the Divine Fire Child is born which is the re-birth of the Sun.

The galactic center is an important point of karmic rectification in Vedic astrology, reflecting the influence of time, karma and Kali. The next few decades are bound to cause an increasing karmic reorientation in humanity, with more difficult economic, ecological and political problems, on one hand, and a search for a deeper spirituality and planetary responsibility, on the other. We have called this ‘A New Time of Troubles’, not a quick dramatic end of the world.

Yet these difficulties of the twenty-first century will not likely be worse than what we experienced in the last twentieth century with its great world wars in Europe and Asia. This does not mean that great traumas may not occur in certain parts of the world, or that it will be an easy time anywhere. Yet we should develop a positive energy to overcome these difficulties and not just look for some magical escape out of them. Deepening our lives spiritually and acknowledging our Dharma is the key to peace, happiness and global well-being.

Groups of humanity can experience a growing awareness and greater connection to the universe as a whole, and major world wars will not be likely. Slowly a greater humanism and tolerance will develop in the world. This requires sadhana or spiritual practice of an intense and sustained nature, not merely wishful thinking.” … Dr. David Frawley

NIRRITRI: GOD OF DESTRUCTION
The residing deity for Mula is Nirritri, who rules destruction. This is in line with Ketu. The fact that this is our ‘center’ might be a clue that this dimension has lessons around letting it go.

THE OTHER SIDE
As I am so fond of saying the foundation of this world is 2-dimensional, which means there is always another side to the story! Is money actually associated with our spiritual karma?

ARTHA
The Vedas break our lives down into 4 parusharthas; Dharma, Artha, Kama and Mosksha. Dharma is right action. Artha is abundance, Kama is pleasure and Moksha is spiritual liberation.

Artha rules the 2nd, 6th and 10th houses in the Vedic chart. They are the houses of money and abundance on the material plane! Go figure. In fact part of our spiritual karmic heritage is to learn how to deal with money. It may come in different forms throughout history, but I can assure you the pressures are the same. So, yes, we are here learning how to deal with and manage the karma of money.

MULA KARMA
What is your Mula karma so far? How are your Artha houses positioned in this life? How can you manage it? Knowing exactly what you owe, what you have and what you are owed is key to getting a handle on your ‘Artha’. This is one of the areas that understanding your own chart can help you understand your karma in this area. Who knew?

THE ROOT
They symbol for Mula is a bunch of roots held together. Is it also not interesting that on December 21st the movement around the world is called Unify? Imagine if we all gather our forces to push our evolution that our Mula karma will also move in a positive direction. December 21, 2012… UNIFY MULA!

LOVE ONLY…
