2012… End of the World?

NO! The world is not going to end in 2012.

Every generation seems to worry that the world will end in their watch.

It’s very true that we do not know what is going to happen day to day, or even moment to moment, therein lies the great mystery that each of us lives with. Although astrology is the art of prediction, as caring professionals we have to be very careful not to move out of integrity with this sacred language. It is designed to give us the ‘energetic blueprint ’ or ‘map’ of time.

As a society we have become increasingly more involved in the virtual world of nostalgia, constantly creating images that give rise to adrenal rushes, by pushing the, ‘fear button’. In my opinion this is unhealthy.
2000 has passed us now, and once 2012 is past, we will find the next date to stir up angst and box office thrillers. It is important that we collectively do not move into fear mode, because, this more than anything else will tip the planet into more chaos. We are all connected on the worldwide web and need to raise our frequency all together through our thoughts. In fact 2012 does give us this opportunity.

WHAT IS 2012 EXACTLY?

This is the question I asked myself when I moved to the Mayan Riviera to study the Mayan calendar. The word on the street is that 2012 is a Mayan creation.

IS THIS TRUE?

Well, yes and no. The Mayans were advanced calendar makers, which is what all of the original Astrologers where in every ancient advanced culture. The Mayans had many different calendars. The one that is gaining the most attention is the one that says we are at the end of a very long cycle called the long count. Keep reading, we’ll discuss once we get the basics down!
MAYAN LONG COUNT
The Mayans, along with many other calendar makers, knew that the earth travels around the sun in what is called the ‘great year’. It is a cycle of 26,000 of our current years. During this time we go through a complete revolution through all of the 12 divisions of the zodiac. Each Era is approx. 2,100 years, which we in the west call an ‘age’. We are just ending the Pisces Age and coming into the Aquarian Age. 2012 does not represent the exact ending of the age of Pisces, that is somewhere around 2060, however, it does represent the end of the circle. It is the point where the snake eats its own tail in symbolism; found in almost all-ancient cultural art; a Completion if you will.

Egyptian Snake eating its tail represents the cyclical nature of the universe of creation out of destruction. We have called it Orobous. Astronomically this completion or center point, sits, for us in the center of the Milky Way at 26 degrees of Sagittarius. Here is the important information coming up!

FACTS ABOUT OUR OWN GALAXY: THE MILKY WAY

. Age 13 to 15 billion years
. Number of stars: 100billion
. Diameter: 100,000 light years
. Diameter of central bulge: 25,000 light years
. Distance from the sun from the center (26 Sag): 27,000 light years
. Orbital velocity of our sun around the center: 135 miles/per second
. Time for the sun to orbit around the center: 250 million years
. Center of Milky Way is 26 Degrees in constellation Sagittarius.

26 DEGREES SAGITTARIUS ~ OUR GALACTIC CENTER ~

The Milky Way is our own little universe in a sky full of billions of universes! The center point, or sun of our sun, is at 26 degrees in the constellation of Sagittarius. This point is the source of most of our gravitational energy present in our galaxy. A huge black hole the size of a large star containing the mass of 4 million suns exists at this point. Just an aside; there is a lot of talk lately about the constellation of Ophiuchus. Some are suggesting it be the 13th sign. We will cover that subject in another article. Just know it is just northwest of the center of the Milky Way. The southern part lies between Scorpio to the west and Sagittarius to the east. It is located opposite Orion. The constellation is a man holding a serpent, not a serpent eating its tail.

Time to dispel the notion that the 2012 alignment is in Ophiuchus.

The reality is that the sun and the earth cannot align with the center of the galaxy in Ophiuchus because the center of the galaxy is in Sagittarius. Be careful of false nostalgia creating stories around this subject.

IS DECEMBER 21, 2012 THE EXACT DAY THE REVOLUTION IS COMPLETE?

The truth is there is controversy among the scholars! I had the great pleasure to lecture alongside Carl Calleman in Vancouver in 2010 on this very subject. He has written many books and is considered an expert in this field. Even Carl is now thinking the completion day is not actually December 21, but is October 11, 2011. So you see there is controversy! Even he agrees that it is pretty much impossible to narrow it down to one day.

IS THE ECLIPSE ON DECEMBER 21, 2012 EXTRA SPECIAL?

No, not really.

The sun comes closest to being aligned to the center of the galaxy on December 21st, but the sun misses lining up between the earth and galactic center by 5 or 6 degrees, and misses by that much every year.

Nothing exceptional going on here.

In reality, other than the fact that we are just completing another 26,000 year period, there is nothing scary about the planetary lineup. Yes, we are heading into another era, but this happens on a regular basis on earth, and it does not mean the end of the world. We do all agree that it is about a cycle of completion and a shift in consciousness.

 

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON 2012?

The Mayans were a great race. They were advanced on many areas. Did you know, along with this fascinating long count calendar, they brought us chocolate, avocados, papaya, chili, and amaranth? What an amazing race. They had great centers for governance and the astronomer/astrologer held a very high respected place as we find they do in advanced cultures.

I do pay attention to the message of their long count calendar. I have spent the past 3 years in the area and believe that this race and this calendar give us an important message for global consciousness.

Let’s look into it.

AGE OF CO-CREATION

From all of my inquiries and studies, Hindu and Mayan, we are supposed to be entering into a Golden Age.
According to the Mayan Calendar, long count, in February or March 2011, we enter into the final age of the long count, which is called the age of co–creation. This age is supposed to have the qualities of speeding time and the power of manifesting our dreams.

I choose to believe this!

We are clearly in a major transition as a race of humans, and it is also clear that we need to elevate our general level of consciousness. I believe they had information about the future, which is now and created a system to wake us up. On some level it is working.

CONCLUSION

It is very apparent that we are into some level of major transition, is it not?

I would not define it down to a day.

We have the astronomical fact of the 26,000 year cycle and the Mayan long count, which seem to coincide, not to a day, but to a general time.

Why not choose to pay attention to ancient wisdom?

I do.

I would just argue, that we are IN the transition NOW.

No doomsday. Just a need for higher consciousness and greater co-operation among all earths’ people.
