MOON IN DHANISHTA
23
The 23rd Nakshatra is the constellation of the dolphin head, Delphinus. Dolphins are considered by many, including me, to be the most evolved animals on the planet; even more than humans. They have a large brain with telepathic communication. They do not harm the planet. This is a good time to recognize this sacred animal.

Flipper was the first dolphin in captivity and she committed suicide. The man who owned her, Ric O’Barrie, has been on a crusade for the past 40 years to free dolphins around the world. He made a movie called The Cove. It is worth seeing.

The one major attribute about dolphin is that literally each breath they take has to be a conscious choice. They do not breath automatically as we do; rather they must choose to live into their next breath or not. Imagine how much more we would value our life if we had this form of relationship to prana. I invite you, during this full moon to become more deeply associated with your breath and the beauty of how we co exist with other elements on this planet to survive. Also please take the time to apologize to the dolphins for the sad unevolved way they have been treated.

Dhanistha is also represented by a DRUM and Is called the Star of Symphony. Lord Shiva played a tabla drum. For those born under this nakshatra there is a love of music. During this full moon it is a great time to dance and allow the flow of music to dance with you.

Drumming is a therapy as well. It is great for all of us to have our own drum and to take the time to use it as an avenue to release blocked emotion and clear our souls. The heart beats to a rhythm as the drum of our soul. Small children love to drum. If you are looking for something artistic to incorporate into your life for your spiritual wellbeing, get a drum ; and take the time to play it!

Shiva

Dhanistha is represented by the deities called the eight Vasus who are the solar Gods of energy and light. Vasu is a Sanskrit word meaning , “good”. The eight Vasus are:

Pratyusa : Sun
Soma: Moon
Dhara: Earth
Anala: Fire
Apa: Space
Anila: Wind
Prabhasa: Sky
Dhruva: Nakshatras

Combined their power is : Khyapayitri Shakti: fame & abundance.

Our lives in this earth plane dance with all of these elements and when they are truly in balance we find abundance is a way of BEING. Dhanishtha is about insight and perceiving truth which is what creates a spiritual depth. Mars is the ruling planet which creates the Spiritual Warrior. The animal symbol is the female lion.

Interesting how the sign of the king in the zodiac is Simbha, the lion. It is also very interesting that the female lion takes on great responsibility hunting and feeding her male counterpart and babies. Lions are also very sexual. She is an example of giving fully of oneself as an act of nobility.

Dhanishtha is in Capricorn and the challenge is that one born with this asterism strong can be overly ambitious in gaining material prosperity. Look at the state of the stock market globally and the youth in Britain reacting to such an imbalance in the distribution of wealth in society.

Finally Dhanishtha can have difficult marital karma. Both Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe had their natal moons in this nakshatra.

CANCER ~ CAPRICORN AXIS

The Sun is in Cancer with Venus close by for this full moon. Emotions will run high and new love affairs may blossom. It is a good time to reflect on how you treat your heart as it has a home within your own body temple. Your precious heart does not get a coffee break from birth to death; it remains loyal and in service to you. Your role is to care for this precious instrument that is responsible for guiding you in the correct direction for your soul. It lets you know when you are out of integrity, out of alignment and in the wrong relationship. Rather than listen many choose to take medication to numb the heart. It is no surprise that heart disease is the number one killer of men and women. If you feel you are out of alignment in your life and your relationships you will really feel it during this full moon. Why not take the time now to make a change; to become devoted to the wellbeing of your own heart.

Create a stable environment or home for your heart so it can do it’s job. Allow this concept to spill outwards into your life and you find balance between the Vasu energy and the drumming of your heart as you harmonize your place within the divine harmony of the cosmos. Also honor your elders. Take time to give a call and offer your respect for their efforts. Find Peace; Everyone is seeking Love. If Love comes to you do not turn it away. Honor it. Don’t be afraid to show love and appreciation ever! Love is an infinite source. Open your heart during this Moon. Commit to finding your Balance.
