Jyo (Sanskrit): Light.
Jyotisha is the science of light. Jyotisha is considered the most complex of the Vedic disciplines and is referred to as the ‘Eyes of the Vedas’. Jyotisha is Vedic Astrology. Ganesha is the patron saint of Jyotisha. He is Guru.
Guru (Sanskrit): Teacher
Gu: darkness/ignorance. Ru: light; spiritual knowledge. Guru is a teacher who illuminates the darkness.
I have been a student of Astrology for thirty years. I also believe in slow maturation and that some professions are much more potent if the individual takes time to mature and master. To this end, I have only recently began a public image as a Jyotishi. A Jyotishi is one who is qualified to read the sacred Vedic mystical language of Jyotisha. By definition a Jyotishi must have a chart that shows an inherent ability to comprehend this language. To channel this information correctly and without judgement, the Jyotishi must also be of a sattvic (pure) nature.
If you take a few minutes to understand the foundations of Jyotisha you have a much clearer picture of the truth behind astrology.
LANGUAGE OF LIGHT
Jyotisha is divided into the following categories:
Gola: Astronomy. The ancient Vedic culture had a clear concise understanding of the movement of the planets within our solar system. They observed the planets up to Saturn as well as the eclipse patterns as they travelled against the backdrop of the fixed constellations. This is called sidereal time. Jyotisha began on this logical system and continues today. Julius Cesar created his own calendar that does not respect the precession of the equinoxes, therefore it is no longer an accurate astronomical calendar. Go figure! The western astrology is based on the Julian calendar.
Ganita: Mathematics. Math is used to measure the movement of the planets as they move at different speeds and also to calculate the angles of light that are thrown off each planet as they converge on the point of focus. i.e.: You.
Jataka: Chart calculation. If you take Gola and Ganita you get a language. It comes in chart form and it is THE LANGUAGE OF LIGHT. Thus the true essence of Astrology is that it is the language of energy or light. Each being or moment is influenced by the cosmic light frequency that occurs at the moment of birth. Further to that, there is information that travels in light (internet, telephone, etc.) that can be gleamed from the chart.
Prasna: A question. You can go to the chart with a question.
Maturtha: 48 hours. You can go to the chart to see future energy patterns.
Namita: Omens. The fact is that omens or signs from ‘nature’ or ‘God’, called synchronicites or synchrodestiny, fall under Jyotisha. The message here is that reality is a projection experience. Outward signs are created to help us with our life. If we understand our chart, or the chart of a particular moment, and pay close attention to the Namita, we have a much better chance of being in the organic cosmic flow of the universe.
SCIENCE vs. MYSTERY
Life is the biggest mystery we know of and we are all living it! If you look to ancient cultures you will find that there is a point where pure science, physics, bumps up against the mystical.
Metaphysics is beyond physics. The point where this happens is where the mystery and the magic begin and logos ends; it is the point where even greatest physicists come to God. There is simply something more that what meets the eye. Astrology is a metaphysical language left by what appears to be a race of enlightened Gods from the Indus valley which is now in northern India.
WHAT ABOUT DECEMBER 21, 2012?
MAYA IS A SANSKRIT WORD
Maya is a sanskrit word that means ‘illusion’. It is the concept that life as we see it with our eyes is an illusion. Interesting that the Mayans also have many Vedic words within their vocabulary. A mystery. One would think that there is a message in the fact that this 2012 event is brought forth by those calling themselves Mayan. Lets look at the Vedic perspective to the Mayan time line of December 21, 2012.
CALENDARS
There are many ways to break up a 360 circle. The Mayans had 18 different calendars. The one that is receiving all of the attention with this cycle is the one that has 5 great cycle of 5,125 years. According to this calendar we are completing the final 5th age of the Sun. According to the world expert on this calendar, Carl Calleman (whom I had the pleasure of lecturing alongside in Vancouver in 2010), this is not likely true. He feels that this date happened already in October 2011.
SO WHAT IS GOING ON?
THE GREAT YEAR
There is an astronomical cycle called the precession of the equinoxes that completes every 26,000 years. Plato called it the ‘The Great Year’. I like Plato’s description of this cycle called “The Great Year”:
“And so people are all but ignorant of the fact that time really is the wanderings of these bodies, bewilderingly numerous as they are and astonishingly variegated. It is none the less possible, however, to discern that the perfect number of time brings to completion the perfect year at that moment when the relative speeds of all eight periods have been completed together and, measured by the circle of the Same that moves uniformly, have achieved their consummation.”[1]
When the precession of the equinoxes completes it’s journey through the 12 zodiac signs it naturally returns back to the beginning of the circle. This particular cycle is divided into approximately 2,160 year periods called ‘ages’. 2,160 years x 12 zodiac signs = 25,920 = rounded off to 26,000 years. We are currently at the end of the Piscean Age about to enter the Aquarian Age. As far as I understand, the actual time that we take that first step into the Aquarian Age is somewhere around 2060 (with the Julian calendar that the world is following).
If you look up to your celestial environment it is easy to see that the area is so vast that it can be overwhelming to contemplate. It is also complicated to bring all the astronomy forward to those who do not study this science. Let me just say after many years of study and actually living in the Mayan lands, I have arrived at the conclusion that the Mayans were highlighting the fact that we are completing this 26,000 year cycle, or great year.
A NEW ERA?
YES! There is no question that this time is the beginning of a new cycle astronomically. More than that, with the emergence of the internet the global community has come together on levels as never before. Interesting to note that the Aquarian Age rules air waves, so the internet is just the beginning of what will develop within the next few thousand years. In any case, the internet has allowed us to stage global conscious events. We are all connected on an energetic grid, so when vast numbers align their heart and thought waves simultaneously, the grid gets fired effecting shifts. Shifts in consciousness is what is needed in order to raise this planet from war and famine. I believe this coming together of souls on December 21, 2012 will cause a shift as we have never had; for the positive. As an Astrologer, I look to the facts that are given through the chart. The chart gives us the exact location of the planets on December 21, 2012.
TRUE STAR TIME
Vedic astrology, began and continues to this day, with sidereal time or true star time. This means the planets are measured by their movement against the backdrop of the fixed constellations. Sidereal time is approximately 24 degrees behind the Julian calendar. Let’s examine the Vedic chart for December 21, 2012. I am using Tulum because it is the location of the temple that is devoted to Venus, the focal planet for the Mayans. In my opinion, I am looking for a chart/time where Venus is most prominent. Because of all of the negative press on this subject I am also looking for a chart that has Venus featured, but also is a time of danger. Let’s look first at December 21, 2012.
DECEMBER 21, 2012 VEDIC CHART
Venus is in Scorpio in the lunar sign of Anuradha which is the sign of friendship. Venus is also with the eclipse point or north node of the moon called Rahu in sanskrit. Scorpio is all about power. Venus is all about love. Does this amplify the power of love? Yes. Venus is also aligned with Mercury the planet of communication. The result is powerful communication of love and friendship. Jupiter is in opposition and with Ketu (south node) providing a solid foundation based on faith. The Moon is in Pisces which rules unconditional love. Mars is in Capricorn also providing stability. The chart is nice, but not dangerous or exceptionally powerful.
DECEMBER 13, 2012; NEW MOON IN SCORPIO
Now this chart has some very powerful qualities. A new moon is a dark moon, which means there is no light in the sky therefore it is the lowest energy point of any month. In this case, what is significant is that the Moon is debilitated or very weak in Scorpio. Mars which is the God of war is ruling here. The effects of this energy is that repressed anger can come forth under bad judgement. At this particular time, the Sun and Moon are both in very late degrees of Scorpio which is termed Gandanta and is very dangerous. Jupiter is in the 7th with Ketu which can be the dissolution of partnership. Venus and Mercury are still in Scorpio and are also aligned with the Sun, Moon and Rahu. Personally, if there is a time to watch during this period, it this one. As per usual, the best thing that this mystical knowledge can do is give us time to prepare and use our own energy to raise the vibrational frequency as much as possible to avoid the misuse of power in other parts of the grid.
HEART CHAKRA VIBRATION
You cannot fake love. The vibration that emanates from your heart is your gift to the world and to the cosmos. The more you love the higher the frequency you emit and the more you help out your brothers and sisters and mother Gaia.
A NEW ERA OF LOVE
After having lived in the Mayan Riviera for the past 5 years and studied this event as much as possible I have arrived at the fact that this event is a time to increase the frequency of Love on the planet. IF everyone does there part there can be a tipping point where the whole energy has to shift. Imagine a world where fear, anger, war, hunger and poverty were a thing of the past. Imagine it! Be a part of that movement by raising your own personal frequency.
MAYAN’S GREETING
The Mayans brought us chocolate and avocados. In my books that elevates their status! They also showed us that they understood the fact that we are all connected on an energetic grid, that we are all One. This is their greeting:
In Lakesh = I am You
Ala K’in = You are Me
We are reflections of each other. Enough said!
TIME IS ART
The Mayans believe that time is not about money, rather time is about art. If we moved deeper into this concept we would see our own life differently. Those on this planet who make a lot of money are the ones who also give the most away. I believe 2012 is a time for raising the frequency of Love. Whatever date we choose, the most important aspect of this time is that humanity is coming together to usher in a new age of cooperation with the intention to create a more conscious society. I believe this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius!
In Lakesh, Namaste, Shalom, Blessings…
Love only,
Paddi
