Communication is such an interesting phenomenon. We are by definition Beings that communicate information between each other constantly; and in this age of technology there are ever increasing new tools and forms for communicating. So in the past you would have to run into somebody in person to communicate; now you can call, email, Facebook, Facetime or text. With all of these ways to relay information, you would think that communication would improve. My feeling is that with more ways to communicate there just seem to be more ways to miscommunicate!
MERCURY RETROGRADE IS ABOUT THE POWER MISCOMMUNICATION.
Everybody has a different brain computer that processes information differently. This is where astrology becomes super interesting. Considering your chart is your karmic coding, each of you are coded to receive, process information slightly differently. I like to think of individuals like snowflakes, each one with a slightly different pattern that makes it authentic and unique. According to how your light code is programmed, you will receive information completely differently than even your partner.
MERCURY is the planet of listening.
MERCURY is the planet of hearing.
MERCURY is the planet of understanding.
MERCURY is the planet of communicating.
It is important to understand that when somebody communicates with another, these three elements are constantly in flux.
So; what is said, what is heard and what is understood are all different elements of communicating, and come into play every time communication happens.

Saturn is how we trip, stumble and fall with certain information.
All of these personal light streams flow into our Mercury channel and then out of our body temple through our mouths, eyes, expression, and of late our internet keyboard and texting fingers!
So many different elements at play!
Add to this the fact that many people are still stuck on past experiences which color their current view of the world. This means every piece of information must go through an individual filter (karmic code) that in each individual is more or less toxic.
If you have not let go of the anger triggers and learned reactive behavior models learned from an abusive or dysfunctional parent or past relationship, you will process all information through a system that takes the information and steps it down.
You can spend time worrying ( meditation on a negative outcome), being angry or sad as you process information from another. The person who is communicating with you may have done lots of therapeutic personal development and have let go of the archaic patterned filter, or may have had a peaceful upbringing and not even developed any negative filters, or may just have a karmic code that is simple with no need to think or feel deeply into any one subject
It can take years to understand how another receives information.
By taking a look at the birth chart you can see into the personal operating system if you will. You can see how another hears, listens, processes and returns communication; at least what they would favor. This gives you massive insight into how to communicate effectively with that person.
One with no water will not need to spend much time communicating feelings.
One with little air will not want to spend a great deal of time with words.
One with focused earth will view action as the most ideal form of communication.
One with focused water will need to spend a great deal of time talking about feelings.
Sudden Communication seems like a very complex process.
And it is!
Miscommunication is even more complex!

This time mercury is transiting through the constellation of Scorpio in the nakshatra of Jyeshtha. This is serious business. This intense frequency is deeply emotional, controlling and driven by passion and power.

Also interesting that the occupy movement is being met with force. Now everywhere in the world peoples governments are showing force against their own people. Power muscles are being flexed. Scorpio rules mars, so anger is rising.
What makes this mercury retrograde cycle particularly intense is that Mercury is alongside the current eclipse pattern of Rahu in Scorpio. This alone will intensify all miscommunication and highlight power struggles, both globally and personally.
You may find yourself ready to look at the deeper levels of your truth. This is not really a good time to talk about it though. You will likely find yourself over reacting.This only causes drama.
Of course that is much easier said than done. Once you begin to feel the passion of emotion you may not be able to stop yourself.
In this day and age, when you have an intense feeling associated, choosing the correct form of communication can make or break a relationship.
EMAIL AND TEXTING
As much as these new forms of communication have their merit, they are also causing more miscommunication.
During this cycle I highly recommend that if you are driven to unveil some deep secret, intention, or love interest, do not put it in an email or text. It is so easy to just fire off a text or email. Truth is when we hit send, the emotion that we are feeling is not an attachment to the file. We may feel it is, but in reality it is not. I suspect as humanity continues to evolve along the cyber tract, this may change, but it is important to remember that we are the pioneer generation of the internet and emotion is not automatically received from an email.
SECRETS
Scorpio is secrets.
This cycle will bring up secret communication.

Best you talk to someone who is not in your direct line of passionate fire to try to unleash your emotion before disturbing a communication pathway. If you have brewing secret anger, it can intensify and morph during this cycle as well. Generally there will be lots of clean up after this mercury retrograde.
Take the Buddha path and observe. Look at the world and understand the metaphysical principle that the one=whole. Whatever is going on globally is also going on internally within all of us. This is a good time to examine your secrets and how much power they have over your life. This a time to reflect on the power of truth. This is a cycle to observe. If you absolutely have to communicate, stage your place, make sure there are no distractions and give yourself plenty of time. Try not to react until mercury goes direct.
