starsLook to the sky on a clear night. What do you see? Do you really believe that you are separate from your environment? Really?

YOUR LOCAL ENVIRONMENT
Think about the impact that your local environment has on you. In recent years the newly formed western world has begun to realize that they have a heritage. Yes, a history that goes back beyond Jesus or Mohamed. Humanity goes so far back that we really have no idea of the actual time frame. What is interesting is that the further back we go, the more evolved the race appears to be. In fact the oldest body of knowledge left to us is by all standards the highest vibrating information that we have. Imagine!

SANSKRIT
Sanskrit (संस्कृतम् saṃskṛtam [sə̃skɹ̩t̪əm], originally संस्कृता वाक्saṃskṛtā vāk, “refined speech”). I sure do not remember learning anything about sanskrit in my formal catholic education. Do you? Sanskrit, as far as we know is the oldest language on the planet. It is also the most refined and sophisticated grammatical science on the planet.

Sanskrit is the only spiritual language. It is designed in such a way that it is a spiritual exercise just to learn the language. The way that sanskrit is pronounced can cause energetic shifts in the brain itself. It requires much more of the brain area to speak sanskrit. This language uses the back of the brain which means there is more of a meditative quality to expression. It produces communication that is more thoughtful and meditative compared to western language which uses the incisors and produces quick action without deep thought. Sanskrit is a sophisticated language that requires more than a decade to master.

Light2A SPIRITUAL LANGUAGE
Sanskrit is a ceremonial language. In fact it forms the foundational base of science and arts. The reason it is considered a spiritual language is because the vector point for the various limbs or subjects is gratitude and reverence for life. Mantras, which are now becoming popular in western culture due to the rise in yoga practice, conduct a meaning of the divinity of all creation and the interconnectedness of all in the name of divinity. Divinity, as far as I understand, is our highest and most noble authentic expression.

SHRUTI AND THE VEDAS
This it the part that I love. It took me a number of years to comprehend the enormous ramifications of this ancient fundamental term. The body of knowledge that was written in sanskrit is called, ‘Vedas’. Veda, means, ‘knowledge’.

There was a group of people who lived in Indus valley in what is now northern India. They left us the Vedas which are the body of knowledge written in sanskrit. The language was an oral tradition, not really meant to be written. If you have studied even a snippet of this knowledge you will realize that it will take you a lifetime just to learn even a fraction of any of the subjects. As an astrologer, I am in awe of the fact that this ancient race could calculate planetary positions needed to create a birth chart, in their head! The calculations needed to arrive at your birth chart are as long as your arm. Nowadays we have computers that can do the calculation. Whoever they were, they were using way more of their brain than we currently use. The level of intelligence and intuitive capacity needed to manage this information is just not something we see in the current age; furthermore they made it very clear that the information in the vedas was the direct word of God, a term called, ‘shruti’, that which is heard. The moment is became copied or transcribed by another it became ‘smriti” , that which is remembered. We all know that which is remembered is a subjective form of interpretation. The fact that this is given to us to comprehend alone gives rise to such a high level of sophistication.

Light1YOGA
Within the Vedas are limbs or ‘Vedangas’; bodies of knowledge that weave together in such a profound way that when one arrives here on their scholastic search for spiritual truth, there is a resonance that one cannot deny which in sanskrit is the word, ‘satya’, which means ‘truth’. Within each of the vedangas there are yogas. The word yoga has evolved from the sanskrit term, “Yug’, which means ‘to yoke’. My interpretation is that yogas are energetic alchemical combinations which produce a result. The result will fall into one of two camps, benefic (good) or malefic (bad). The goal of going through the various yogas is to make your way through your karma (the bad) to arrive at moksha or freedom.

JIVA MUKTI
Once you have liberated yourself from the negative yogas, you become liberated or free. The general goal of the vedas is to become liberated while still alive. The term for that is jiva mukti. Liberation creates a state of Being that is pure bliss called Sat-cit-ānanda (Sanskrit: सच्चिदानन्द, “existence consciousness bliss”. The fact that all the limbs of the Vedas are designed to take you to Satchitananda is what makes this a spiritual discipline or language.

JYOTISHA
Jyo means ‘light’. Jyotisha, means ‘the science of light’. Jyotisha is considered the most complex Vedanga and is referred to as ‘the eyes of the Vedas’. Jyotisha is the combination of pure astronomy (Gola) and pure mathematics (Ganita) which produces a language that is offered in a chakra or circular form as the birth chart. This is astrology!

UNIVERSE OF LIGHT
Light5When we look up we see darkness that is illuminated by round Beings of light. The darkness is illuminated by the light. Guru is the sanskrit term that means the light that dispels the darkness. Guru is also the name for ‘teacher’. Jyotisha is the science of light that is given to us by this ancient enlightened race, to help us become shed light on our dark consciousness so that we may have the understanding of who we are individually as cosmic Beings of Light.

YOUR OWN KARMIC CODE
Your birth chart is your karmic code. It is the information that is embedded in light that contains the secret to your authentic expression of God. Jyotisha or Vedic astrology is the origins of Astrology. It comes from the vedas and is delivered in sanskrit. It is sacred mystical highly evolved information available to you whenever you are ready to receive.

Namaste.
Love only…
