MOON & JUPITER RISING
Both planets are in Cancer in the lunar sign Ashlesha. Normally this would be a favorable placement. The Moon belongs in Cancer and Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. If we were to look to the negative impact, it would be that it is a time of great emotion, especially within the family. The lunar sign is Ashlesha is associated with danger and death. Jupiter in this position pushes the size of the event.
SUN, MARS , MERCURY IN ARIES AT ZENITH
This is the shaker combination. The Sun and Mars are in extremely powerful stations in the Aries. The combination is enough to ‘move mountains’. Mercury is the planet that adds the actual movement. Mars and Mercury are in the lunar sign of Bharani. Bharani is ruled by Yama, the God of death, Nirritri, the God of destruction and Indra, the God of thunder and storms. There is nothing gentle about Bharani, it is a force of destruction. These planets were directly overhead as it was almost noon placing the Sun in a powerful energetic position. Mercury and Mars are within a 3 degree orb or separation. Mercury at 26 and Mars at 23 degrees. The element is fire and the energy is force.
90 DEGREES OF SEPARATION
When planets are 90 degrees apart they create stress. Moon, Jupiter on the horizon were in a 90 degree angle to the Sun, Mars and Mercury. All of these planets were in chara or action oriented planets which literally caused movement under stress.

It is always a little baffling to see extremely challenging situations occur when the planets, in fact, look beneficial. During this period there are 5 exalted planets. When the planets are powerful they can be powerful both in a negative or positive situation. We are reminded of this fact with this horrible event.

As you know I have an undying love for the ancient wisdom and those enlightened Masters who grace the planet with their presence. There is one living currently outside of Katmandu. Many of you may have heard of him when , in 2005, he sat under a tree in mediation without food or water for 10 months.
