October 2011 Vedic Astrology Perspective

END OF THE MAYAN CALENDAR?

According to my metaphysical colleague Carl Calleman, expert author of the Mayan calendar, the real ending is not December 21, 2012 – but rather October 28, 2011. My first impression is to pay attention. There is no question that this month holds super intense energy. The Mayan focus was on the planet Venus. This month Venus does align with a smattering of Scorpio planets and Rahu. This month’s planetary configurations do indeed fit much more with the prophesies than December 21, 2012, so I am inclined to agree with Calleman. When I personally examined the date of 2012, I could not find what I was looking for in way of energetic high intensity with a possible negative spin. This month however does have the ingredients needed to create alchemy of darkness.
Let us look at this date.

OCTOBER 28, 2011

What is significant is that Venus is with Rahu along with the Moon at the very beginning of Scorpio. Scorpio rules money, Venus rules money, Rahu rules distortion. Very often, believe it or not, Venus is often found in the game of disaster. The only reason I can come up with is that there is a lesson of the heart to be learned by the incident caused from the result of combining certain destructive forces. As many are saying these days because we live in a 2 dimensional world the brighter is gets the darker it gets. This is a hard pill to swallow for those of us who have no real interest in anything dark other than a starry sky. Venus is just at zero degrees of Scorpio which is unstable. The Moon, which in this lunar-based system is the most important planet in the chart, is severely compromised. It is in its highest point of debilitation or weakness at 3 degrees of Scorpio. This is an indication of dark thoughts and deep negative emotions. It can also indicate general darkness. Next we see Mars in Cancer at 28 degrees also very close to its exact point of debilitation of 27 degrees. Mars is the planet that will force action. The reason we do not like to see it in Cancer so much is because it can be anger in the midst of an emotion. Then we see the Sun in Libra its exact degree of debilitation of 10 degrees of Libra. Mercury is in Libra that is not a good placement for sound solid decisions. Mercury is always colored by the planet it is near. The Sun and Mercury are in drishti or opposition to Jupiter, which is in the fiery volatile Aries. Further to this Mars is the focal point to release the stress caused by the trapped energy caused by the dynamic of Sun and Mercury opposite Jupiter. What is significant about this period in time is the number of planets that are at or very close to their weakest expression. When planets are very weak they do not have the energy to withstand negative forces or may even act as negative forces.

It is highly unusual to have a chart with so many planets at such weak angles. I have sat with Carl personally with my computer program out trying to figure out exactly what date the Mayans were warning us about. In this case, I would have to say I align with Carl’s assessment that this is the time that the Mayans were warning of, rather than December 2012. It is always more about a time period than a specific date and we all know that we are in a period of adjustment. The current system of a mix of modern capitalist societies based on a foundation of debt mixing with older cultures with more ancient values is not making for a harmonious outcome. The Mayans stressed that TIME IS ABOUT ART rather than money. If we were all to readjust and follow our passion to be creative and harmonious with our host planet, rather than see how much money and possessions we can accumulate at the expense of our global brothers and sisters, the world would be a more peaceful place. Maybe the forces that BE will force this lesson. I am not really into too much prediction, however, I would say that Carl has nailed the date as far as the cosmic acupuncture point. This is a day to watch. Of course the energy spreads wider than just one day.

I WONDER WHAT JESUS WOULD SAY?

Every age has an icon. I think we can all agree that the Piscean Age Is represented by Jesus. One small tip is the even when the Christians were being prosecuted they would draw a fish in the sand to identify each other. The fish is the symbol for Pisces. It is fairly common knowledge that Jesus spent at least a decade in India. In India it is fairly common knowledge that he was studying the Vedas. Jesus had one main message that echoes all other spiritual Masters that grace the planet with a lifetime of service to humanity.

LOVE

We are currently still in the Piscean Age. Because the precession of the equinoxes moves backwards through the sky, the Aquarian Age is the next epoch.

PRECESSION OF THE EQUINOXES

I know this is a deep complex subject, but my friends, like the complex body we live in, it is a good idea to try to grasp a general idea of our vehicle (body) and our environment (celestial home). The whole concept behind 2012 is the completion of the approximate 26,000 year cycle of the precession of the equinoxes. This picture is a look from the outside of the celestial sphere. The rotation axis of the Earth describes over a period of 25,800 years which is shown as a small blue circle, and is centred around the ecliptic north pole (blue E) with an angular radius of 23.4, the angle known as the obliquity of the ecliptic. The orange axis was the Earths’ rotation axis 5000 years ago when it pointed to the star Thuban. The yellow axis, points to the star Polaris, which is the situation now.

Note: when the celestial sphere is seen from the outside, constellations appear in mirror image.

Note: The daily rotation of the Earth around its axis is opposite to the precessional rotation. When the polar axis precesses from one direction to another, then the equatorial plane of the Earth (indicated y the circular grid around the equator) and the associated celestial equator will move too. Where the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic (red line) there are equinoxes. As seen from the drawing, the orange grid, 5000 years ago one intersection of the equator and ecliptic, the vernal equinox was close to the star Aldebara of the constellation Taurus. By now (yellow grid) has shifted (red arrow) to somewhere in the constellation of Pisces.

Note: This astronomical description of the precessional movement of he vernal equinox position in a given constellation has been given the astrological name of the age, which corresponds to the transiting constellation. Each age is approximately 2000 years in earth time, which in one complete cycle ends in a 26,000 year cycle. This is what is referred to as the Precession of the Equinoxes.

CONTROVERSY

There remains controversy in the exactness of dates. The Mayans called for the end of the 5th age to be when the cosmic counter completes the 26,000 year cycle and moves back to 00.00.00.00.

Many astronomers and astrologers believe the actual date of the movement into the Piscean Age is somewhere around 2600 B.C. There you have it. I know it is complicated. Really challenging to grasp! But it is a good idea for all of us to at least have an overview of the general idea of what everyone is talking about and what Hollywood producers are capitalizing on! There are many different calendars, many ways to view the sky. The Mayan had 18 different calendars. The one that is getting so much attention is the referred to as the LONG COUNT. The ending of the calendar is what is creating controversy. In the Mayan prophecies we have been warned of a disaster, which happens during this time. The question is whether it is a series of major natural and manmade catastrophes as we have clearly been experiencing in recent years or is it one major disaster that brings the house of cards down. Since we live in a world of mystery we have to wait and see! Those of us with inquiring minds like to use our brains to examine the details!

TRUST

What we need to do is remember that paper and digital money is a relatively new phenomenon. What we need to remember is that we live in an energetic world. If we wish to trade with one another we do have to have a form that we can all agree upon. Money itself is changing. Is it gold? Is it currency? One thing for sure is that it is all an illusion! No matter what happens, the only thing that is certain on this planet is change. We are always moving and always subject to different energies based on what light frequency we are traveling through in this mysterious cosmos. We do not live in a different world than has exists before. Each generation has faced dire challenges. We must face ours. There have been civilizations greater and lesser than our current civilization. As a general organism, I suggest we all move into a deeper level of TRUST. That there is a higher force that is in charge. Our role is to live our lives in authenticity and TRUST.

MONTH IN REVIEW

The month begins with Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn in Virgo asking us to pay attention to details. Love itself is fine, but if another does not give us what we need, the relationship will not have a foundation to build upon.

OCTOBER 9 VENUS MOVES INTO EXALTATION IN LIBRA
This is good news. Venus becomes stronger for all of us. It is easier to negotiate and find a harmonious balance when Venus is in Libra.

OCTOBER 10 MERCURY MOVES INTO LIBRA
This time represents a shifting of energies. You will see movement in otherwise stagnant situations. This is with Libra is there is difficulty making decisions as there general draw is to keep everyone happy. Well this is impossible, so Libran energy can be very surface oriented. This however, could see the money markets rise before what is likely to be a fall based on the earlier part of this article.

OCTOBER 11 FULL MOON IN PISCES
The Sun and Saturn are within 2 degrees of each other and in opposite balancing point to the full moon in Pisces. This is actually a great time for prayer and meditation because watch the energy shifts dramatically the as soon as the Moon moves into Aries the following day.

OCTOBER 17 SUN MOVES INTO LIBRA
The overwhelming energy of the Virgo energy the recent month will subside now as Libra runs the show for a while. Indecision and poor choices must be guarded against. On the other hand this is also a great time for blossoming love and partnerships.

OCTOBER 26 NEW MOON IN LIBRA
Venus is exalted in Libra and brings strength to this new moon. There is a feeling of co-operation and peace. After this the planets gain intensity, which has prompted me to write the earlier part of this article. What a month! Fasten your seat belts. Know who you love. Love who you know and TRUST.
